I need a good file encrpter so i can keep peaple outa my files, can somone help me?

Try a program such as Invisible Secrets Pro. What that does is encrypts your files with a choice of algorithms such as Blowfish etc and it gives you the ability to hide your files within other files. For example if you have a txt document then you can encrypt it and hide it within a picture, and you can then encrypt the picture then you can hide that picture within a sound file etc etc .. I have checked the file headers both before and after i have hidden them and they appeared to be the same. Anyways just use ya search engine to find it, you shouldent have any problems and the program is easy enuff to get to grips with.

This claims to do all kinds of things, but its not open source so no one can tell if they are telling the truth or not.
The problem with crypto is that good crypto looks very much like bad crypto.

I keep fairly up date with the good crypto and Invisible Secrets Pro reads like snake oil. This means that it may keep it safe from you family dog, your parents, and even your kid brother, but not the police, a cracker, or just some nosey bastard; This problem is compounded by the fact that to use Invisible Secrets Pro your going to have to use the free trial or a crack. The free trial is going to expire or your going to have to pay for it and you can't trust the crack, just as you can't trust 90% of cracks especially in this type of application.

For a crypto product to be any good it has to be available for peer review. This means that you should use PGP for email and file encryption. If your going to buy a disk encryption system the pay for version of PGP is also the best but otherwise scramdisk is the best respected piece of software around.

Don't be fooled by long lists of algorithms, you need to choose a id age algorithm like CAST with no known faults, however this is fairly irrelevant as it is in implementation that crypto products tend to fail not the algorithm they use but in the key management.
For this reason you need to use a long pass phase with numbers, letters, and )(*&^%$�, pluS SoME CApS. Then you need to keep you key on removable media.

But this may all be pointless if you want low level security, but be sure that every email you write is being read by a bot some where on it's travels.

This page contains more snake oil than any other I've seen. I take it for granted the reason your asking for some file encryption is because WinZip's excuse for file encryption is a load of crap and can be broken in about five to ten mins but my machine using freely available software.
Most of the bits of software on this page are floored in a variety of ways. If you ever see something claiming it can't be cracked then throw it away cause they are lies. All crypto can be cracked it's just a matter of time and money and finaly rubberhose crypto.

pgp ("pretty good privacy") is the way to go. last I heard was that organizations such as the gov't use pgp. (or maybe that's just a rumor.)
