Default reincarnation

Here's the theory I know of reincarnation. I believe it's the Pagan theory.

Every person is a soul & a body, connected. The soul exists on the higher vibrational levels of reality. As a fetus is being constructed in the womb, a soul takes notice of the mother and starts to stick around. The soul gradually filters itself down until it exists at a low enough vibration to connect with the physical body. This is a traumatic experience for a soul, and is why infants come out crying. The spirit body is, at it's lowest level, a full outline of the physical body. When a limb is cut off, the spirit body holds true to it's form: thus, a phantom limb is experienced. When a person dies, the soul leaves the body and returns to it's own, comfortable realm of existence. The soul wanders the (astral?) plane for some time. Before the next incarnation, the soul makes decisions about all the major experiences it will encounter in it's life. It makes these decisions based on what will be best for it's own advancement. The purpose of the life cycle is spiritual advancement. The Nirvana that Buddha achieved, in example, is the culmination of spiritual mastery.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Agree? Disagree? Can you expand on something? What is the Christian view on reincarnation?

I'm having a face to face discussion forum at a coffee shop on this topic, next week. If anyone is in the SJ/Cupertino area & interested, email me & I'll give details.

Hi Grib,
The most prevailing idea of the soul on this
planet is : "that we have a soul"...
Which is reflected in your above statement...
The real truth of the matter is :
WE ARE SOULS... NOT THAT WE HAVE A SOUL !

We all have a higher spirtual aspect called the " Higher Self" which operates on the higher vibrational levels you make reference to above...

You were ABSOLUTELY correct when you said
"The purpose of the life cycle is spiritual advancement."

Re-incarnations DON'T manifest in the way you explained it... " A soul taking notice of a pregnent mother and sticking around"
THATS NOT HOW IT WORKS !
A soul CHOOSES what mother to be born through, based on what soul experiences are best for the soul for the upcoming lifetime..
These decisions are made in the astral plane...
Your explanation portrayed that a birth choice is very haphazard and random...
BIRTH CHOICES ARE VERY CAREFULLY PLANNED !

Eternal Blessings,
Ancient One

Christians have one view when it comes to reincarnation: it doesn't happen. When I was eight years old I mentioned something about comming back after I die, and i got yelled at for 2 days and forced to read the bible for a week stright.
I do beleive that spirits plan things out a little more carefully than noticing a fetus. What would happen if two or three spirits noticed a fetus and they all wanted in? Would that explain mood swings, voices and the likes? I think not. It would be war if things aren't planned out, and what if no spirit noticed the fetus?
Things would have to be planned out because a lot of past life regressions have noted that the people that are together in this life met and were together in another life. Things like that have to be planned out of chaos would insue and no one would have a soul.

I don't agree with that. The reason infants come out crying, is because it must feel a little traumatic seeing light and breathing fresh oxygen for the first time. How about one of you stay in a vent for about 8 months, and see how sensitive your eyes are to sunlight when you leave.

If reincarnation is real, then past "celebrities" such as Attila The Hun, Emperor Yi-Sun-Shin, Mao, ect.... would all return to haunt us in some form. And if I'm reincarnated from someone, I can't remember it, do not experience any effects of it, so therfore (as far as im concerned), it does not exist.

I think reincarnation does exist and i have a scietific reason, energy can't be created or destroyed rite? so if energy can never be destroyed then it must go somewhere.

I think most people have experienced feeling inexplainably connected to a person they have just met. My belief is that this is a literal effect of reincarnation - you have, truly, met this person before.

I don't remember my childhood. I don't remember being in my mother's womb, or being brought into this world. Do I really, then, know that they happened? The lack of memories is not a reason for doubting the existence of a thing. Memories can be lost, in fact, even in adult life.

It is scientifically proven that every human & animal has electrical current running through their bodies. It is my personal belief that the energy level at which a soul/spirit exists is not yet entirely scientifically measurable. When a person dies, they suddenly lose weight. It has been tested & proven. Where has that sudden release of energy gone, and what was it?

On the contrary, I would expect someone who has been a celebrity to have less chance of being one in a future incarnation. If the purpose of said reincarnation cycle is spiritual advancement, having been a celebrity would probably make me want to experience something different. Maybe something opposite - i.e. poverty or despair.

Good point. A few possibilities:

We have failed. We did not reach whatever point of advancement was necessary to maintain continuity in our world, and we all recombine into the single human consciousness.

We have succeeded. The world ends because it is no longer needed for our advancement, and we all transcend to live entirely in the astral world.

The Hopi prophecies speak of the world being destroyed and recreated several times. In this case, all those who are sufficiently advanced will retract to live in the spirit world until the new physical world is created. At this point they remanifest. Perhaps the world would merely be created again, were it to end.

Okay i usually get confused and just give up on stuff when thinkin like this but think about this.

EVERYONE on this planet or even solar system is just energy. so when you die you are energy in the astral. so if we keep coming back and coming back to somethin new what is beyond the energy or say controlling the energy. I mean it all has to come down to something but I just can't grasp it.

This is sort of like my theory, except without the "coming back" bit.

or maybe all the speculation boils down to just random biological matches. no choice of mother in some astral plane, just shit happening in random events for the rest of time.

"A soul CHOOSES what mother to be born through, based on what soul experiences are best for the soul for the upcoming lifetime.."

so what your saying is a soul chooses to be with a mother that will eventualy be its downfall. say the mother goes nuts and kills the kids. or the mother uses drugs and ends up neglecting the kids to there ultimately horrible lives. if any sort of reincarnation exists its random. im sure the child that was molested and killed by there parents didnt choose that. energy never dies it just changes form. shooting what soul u have, if u believe in that sort of thing into another forming child. or maybe the soul is "split" into 2 parts, half with the man half with the woman. ancients post makes it sound like the woman is the end all be all of human existance. shit we dont even need women any more for there to be children. so does a soul hang around a laboratory waiting for test tube A to be fertilized? what about cloning? its only a matter of time till humans get cloned, does that mean clones dont have souls? to many holes ancient, yet again your argument is flawed.

Don't get abrasive, Das Troll. You've expressed your opinion - consider the other opinions. You've pointed out valid discrepancies. I will try to address them.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying. Suppose that in a past life a soul sold crack & exploited young women. This soul enjoyed being the one these women depended on above all else, including their children. He made no attempt at compassion towards them, & used every oppotunity to abuse them. Their children were thus neglected, & grew up in terrible life situations. The best experience for this soul, in it's next life, will be at the other end of what it has caused. It needs to know by experience how it feels to be there, and frankly being in merely one life after it has caused suffering to countless may not even be balancing enough.

There is also the concept of free will. Reincarnation does not negate free will, in my opinion. It is possible that a mother will follow the wrong path & the child will not experience everything it had intended it would.

This does not follow. Please express a logical train of thought.

Excellent question, & one I have wondered. Any takers?

Another aspect: suicide. What happens when one commits suicide? Is a suicide ever planned, or part of a life path? I've heard from one person that when someone kills themself, they immediately are reborn in another body. In this case, suicide is not a way out. The soul would remain on the same path & experience fundamentally similar challenges until it got through them & could proceed.

to quote myself, it is a logical train of thought. i doubt a soul would send itself on a path of destruction. if it was a good natured soul why would that soul willingly choose bad karma for itself and get a life that will turn out bad. like it would grow up to molest children or kill old people.

energy never dies it just changes form

cant get much more logical than a quote from einstien. if life is a series of tests that allow u into some higher form of reality, heaven, nirvana, ect ect then reincarnation would have to be random. as stated above no soul would deliberatly send themselves down a path of bad karma if higher spiritual enlightenment was the goal.

or maybe the soul is "split" into 2 parts, half with the man half with the woman.

this quote was just my distaste for people thinking that the woman is the end all be all of human existance. if there was no man there wouldnt be people eather.

The reason a soul would choose a shitty life, would be because it has to advance spiritually. And it cannot advance while living the same basic life over and over. I dont think a soul would look forward to living a shitty life, but that doesnt mean they wont suck it up and do it so as they cana dvance spiritually.
