Re: Grrrrrrrrr..... damn governmant of turkey
Please excuse my ignorance but why doesn't the government let them explore it?

There is nothing on that mountain other than a geological formation.

There have been a few expeditions to Mt. Ararat to look for the Ark, I think they started in the 1950's after reports of a pilot seeing something up there. Turkey doesn't let too many people go there and look because if somebody finds something you will have nothing but trouble and a million people trying to come there to see the Ark (and take a piece home). Some people in Turkey hold the mountain sacred so they don't want anyone walking all over it, and then there will be those who will say Turkey doesn't own the Ark, it belongs to everyone, fork it over. Religion makes people nuts, religious artifacts make them even more nuts, and then throw in something that could maybe prove even one verse in the bible true and they all go insane, their faith just isn't strong enough without something tangible.

And the people who analyize the photos who say there is a manmade object on the top.

Wouldn't a large 'wooden' ship biodegrate or at least collapse within the last few hundred years....

Well it supposeably happened 10,000 years ago, but there is no way the flood could have been worldwide for a couple million reasons I have listed before. Unless the wood petrified somehow, that sucker is gone or never existed. 10k years is more than ample time for the wood to be torn apart by weather, insects, and bacteria.

Factor in the high altitude, and cold, and you have a preserved wooden vessel, discounting damge from rocks and such. They discovered a man who was frozen in the alps that was that old. And perfectly preserved wooden ships were found at the bottom of the Black Sea by Robert Ballard, due to that body of water's lack of oxygen.

Re: Grrrrrrrrr..... damn governmant of turkey
I thought the Turkish government didn't let people go around Mt. Ararat because they don't want people to be exposed to the war with the Kurds.
