Sphinx
I haven't quite put all this together but here goes.
Sphinx is believed to have been eroded by water, not wind and sand.
Climantologists have stated that about 10,000 years ago the Sahara had many lakes and much more rain than it has had in thousands of years.
Sphinx is believed by some of the worlds leading Geologists to be at least 9,000 years old, this is 4,000 years before the Egyptians.
The face is believed by a top forensic scientist who works for a police department in the U.S. doing sketches of what people could look like now from pics of before, to not be the image of Pharoah Chephryn (not sure how that's spelled) as commonly believed.
The Sphinx was carved out of solid stone by cutting large blocks out and moving them to the front of the Sphinx. These blocks were later used to build the Temple of the Sphinx and Weighed 200 tons.
Nowhere in Egypt has there been found blocks that even come close to 200 tons.
The blocks used to build the Great Pyrimid at Giza weigh between 2.5 tons up to 7 tons.
Sphinx has been repaired many times in different periods. The oldest repair dates back 4,500 years. This is only 300 years after Pharoah Chephryn died.
To need the given repairs in only 300 years it would have had to eroded by 1 foot per 100 years. At this rate of erosion, the Sphinx would have completely dissapeared about 500 years ago.
So what do you think???

Re: Sphinx
Sounds like we watched the same documentary. I love that shit, it's in my collection of evidence pointing towards a highly advanced ancient culture capable of travelling great distances and building big shit (like the 200 ton blocks in the sphinx enclosure!). The druids called these people the Pheralt (spelling? my room-mate would know). This goes along with all kinds of good shit, like Stonehenge supposedly being 30,000 years old. I could get going, but I'm too tire to write much more about it.

Re: Sphinx
It gets run on various educational cable channels from time to time. I think it's called "Mystery of the Sphinx" or something cliche like that. There's probably a good chance of finding it on a file-sharing network.

Re: Sphinx
Yes it is called the Mysteries of the Sphinx.
And I'm not sure of the spelling either concerning the Ph whatever. But yeah I've heard of them also. Have you also read the Emerald Tablets of Thoth? I think they are all connected, meaning the same people.

Re: Sphinx
Is it posible that the sphinx was altered by pharoah Chefryn's people under his command to have his face as the sphinx's head?
That would explain his face being on it, bu certainly not its construction

Re: Sphinx
Yes that could be the case, but as above stated, the face on the Sphinx is not of the image of Pharoah Chefryn. They took photographs level to the face of three sides of the face and compared it to the images carved on a large number of various other statues of the Pharoah Chefryn. They found that the jaw on the Sphynx protrudes way to much compared to the other images, the brow is quite different than on the other images but the most important thing they found was that the angle between the back of the eye and the bone that kinda sticks up on your face next to your nose on a side view was of something like a 33 degree difference than all the rest of the statues of the Pharoah Chefryn. So even if like you said, during his time he had it carved to represent him, they did an Extremely poor job bucause it doesn't look like him. And I'm sure everyone knows the Egyptions were not lacking much at all in their artistic abilities when it came to creating things out of stone.

Re: Sphinx
The head on the sphinx maybe of some unknown pharoh. I am of the opinion that the current head on the sphinx is not the original one. The original one is probably much larger and more proportional to the body size. When the earlier civilization collapsed, the ancient egyptians we know modified the sphinx into the current one we see. Notice the head to body proportion. I think the documentary discussed in previous posts states this too.

Re: Sphinx
Just something I seen on the Discovery Chanel.
The 'airshafts' in the Great Pyramid are not airshafts. They do not let air in. But, as we all know the Egyptions worshiped Osiris. The constellation of Osiris, is commenly know as Orian. Also, we all know that the Great Pyramid and the other two that accompany it are lined up in the exact geometrical pattern as the stars which form Orians belt. The two big ones in a line, the biggest in the middle and the smallest one in the North and offset a bit to the East. The airshafts in the Great Pyramid meet at an exact angle in the center of Orains belt at the same time the constellation became visible in the night sky over the horizan, 10,500 years ago. This also is about 5,000 years before the Egyptians were supposed to even exist. At this time only Hunter/Gatherer tribes were supposed to exist, anywhere.

Yo Beany, what makes you assume that "science' has explained most everything? Contrary to what you may think, science-for the most part-is based on conjecture and outmoded theories! Don't get too blase' yet there's an incredible amount of evidence that humans haven't begun to plumb yet!

This is where one begins to depart from all the preconceived notions, i.e. brainwashing and propaganda AKA formal education...... The following isn't based on "scientific" theories or pet ideas of Prof. Dogsbody, et al, rather truth passed down from time immemorial... First and foremost the Sphinx symbolized two attributes: Power and Intelligence... The body was of the Cat. The Cat represented Power.... The Head is/was Human & represented Intelligence and together stood for a refined, dynamic Being.. There are other Sphinxs' throughout the world as there are pyramids both on land and submerged...
