repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
has anyone even been doing something or going some where just living out your normal life when it dawns on you that you were here before and the events taking place have already happened. it happens when i see and object that is new to me and suddenly i realized i have seen the object before eventhough it is a physical imposibility for me to have seen it in the past. its just a familiar object that shouldnt be familair that triggers these thoughts that i have experiened the exact event happeneing at the moment before in my life. does anyone else ever have these feelings, like something just isnt quite right?
i attribute it to residual memory from time skiping. time does not move forward at a constant pace but rather it skips around at different paces and rewinds/ F fowards. we are oblivious to this because we are encapsulated by times effects. i belive that i have experienced these events and i somehow kept some of these memories in my consciousness (outside of time but limited by our physical bodies right now). maybe im just rambleing. does anyone else know what im saying here? or maybe have a similar experience?

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
According to 'conversations with god' Our soul already knows everything (since its part of god) and when we learn stuff all we are doing is remembering it. So in a way you already did know about that object. I strongly recommend everyone reads CWG if they are into spirituality

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
that could work if it wasnt for a few things. first off, if time skips, technically wouldnt you be frozen, or continue on living in your own time? not simply travel back in time with whatever is causing it to skip?
and if the feeling you get is the same is the one i sometimes get, its more of a feelign that youve done that or seen that before. then you try to remember where or when you did or saw it, and cant, but you just know youve done or seen that.
which to me would indicate that it may be something in our bodies or mind (perhaps a chemical reaction!?) that for some reason trigered a certain feeling. the feeling you get like when youre trying to remember, and then BAM it finally hits you. kind of like quick recognition of something. it may perhaps simply be our minds or bodies misjudging things and making us feel as if we have remembered something, and you simply may be focused on the object so you think its that object youre remembering. and if there is no object, thats when you et the feeling that youve lived outt his moment, because you dont have a single thing to focus on, so you perceave it as what youre experiencing currently in its entirty.
but thats just my theory

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
however, i just read the one about dreams becomign real, and that cant be atributed to misjudgemnt by the brain. a simpple mistake by our minds cant cause us to see soemthing in a dream and then have it come true. i knwo ive had that happen before, i dreamt i was going to win $1000, and then that day i found a navada ticket that had won $100. it wasnt FULLY exact, but it was very close.
so perhaps this show your theory that time skips may be correct, however i stick to my point about how we woulde ither be frozen or live on and not move with whatever is causing time to skip.
perhaps however, it makes my theory more true. that of which being that the same time exsists is multipul dimensions, relived every time something is altered into a new dimension. and that instead of us being reincarnated into a new body when we die, we simply reenter our old ones and restart life in a new dimension. and the fact that we see into the future may be because our minds are remembering something or some moment that we experienced in our past life. (if youre wondering if a new dimension with us is created when were alive, we're copied!)
or maybe it shows that were reencarnated into new bodies and our minds, much like above, are remembering something.
it may also, show how phsycics work. not the ones who say YOURE GOIGN TO WIN THE LOTTERY. but the ones who can read into the future in their current situation. perhaps they, and it may be by mistake, have found that spot in the mind where all the old memories are stored. or perhaps the memories are skattered, and they simply have a better nack at finding them, which shows why phsycics claim to have been phsycic their entire life.
once again, just one of my pointless theories.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
some people believe that the brain has something to do with it.
We all know that the majority of the brain is not know for what it does so we have no idea what most of our brain does.
It is believed that at the time you fall asleep, (that time when u cant remember what u were thinking when u wake up the next day), your mind goes into a Sub-concious state, Not fully concious and not fully asleep but half way between.
this is the point where a part of the brain triggers itself automatically as you are in a relaxed state and begins functioning.
The second part to this theory is that this part of the brain that starts to function can focus in on (or tune in if you compre it to T.V) the time stream and can see things that are going to happen, (due to whatever u believe, re-incartionation, multiple dimentions etc). once we have seen it we remember it but because we are in a sub-concious state it is stored in our memory where we cant see it.
Until it happens.
But this only works if you believe in multiple dimentions, re-incarnations, time streams etc
Which i don't really
Anyway, its something to think about.
And i'm babbling

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
I had this happen to me just a couple of days ago.I seem to have it when I feel that Im on the correct path( so to speak).Maybee Its you sub conscience letting you know that your repetion is about to enter a new phaze. Its a circle theroy, you will soon be completing a circle(phaze in your life/life cycle ect.)and will be presented with the opporntunity to repeat it.Or move along.I would suppose many people woule stick with what they find familiar.I guess repetion is comforting.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
ants that was one of my theories and scares me because what if i dont have a choice? if i decide to do the exact opposite of what i would normaly do then that opistie choice may be what i would normaly do in that given situation. its very odd and this remembering is acompanied by a strange feeling that i cant explain but i know something is wrong.
as far as time skiping you can think of it as a movie. the characters in the movie dont know your rewinding the movie because they are under the influence of the vcrs controll. everything moves backward to them perportionaly to them so nothing seems wrong or different from playing the tape normaly. this is how time works here, it skips around but you dont notice because everthing in this world moves with it at a perportional pace. its all reletive to the things around you.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
Hmmm.....ok I see.So it could be like that mixed with a situational pimp. The place that you live in could be creating these slots that you fill during a cycle.Maybee the place you live in requires that kinda cycle to remain "alive" so to speak. So the repetition seems similar because joe shmoe just moved out of a phaze, and you replaced him.thus you seem to be doing similiar things.so you kinda do some role playing for the area you live in.....Am i reaching with this? You could attest and say "what about the great thinkers/innovators,ect".I would assume they would have to filled some kida previous slot.Really this could work with your therory in just about any city or town, They have always seemed the same to me.Or maybee it only works with city with a lot of flow through.(college town, ect)I dunno like I said I chose to repeat it seems comfortable to me.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
why dont we remember everything then. or is something happening that triggers these memories?
I dont think we already existed. I just think everyone has a psychic power of seeing something. Maybe you dreamed it before you saw it. we hardly remember our dreams. We only remember 1 or 2 dreams a night yet we have hundreds.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
the question is what is a dream? how do you serperate them becasue they are often continuous (sp). i dont think its a role replacement type thing. it is a distinct feeling that i have been doing something before and it is acompanied with an indescribable strange feeling. i dont exactly buy into roles becasue i believe in free will (to an extent).
i dont believe that i am remembering a dream becasue the things that trigger thses events are totaly insignificant and i would never remember them from a dream. its as simple as me walking down a hall seeing people and feeling the event happened or working on my computer and suddenly realizing that i have done the exact same thing in the past. i think they are too insignificant to be rehashed dreams.
wierd things like this have happened to me my whole life but the past events have become more frequent latley.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
P.S. What makes you think time exists? Your watch, clock, calender? All man made. The speed at which the Universe is expanding used to determine how old the Universe is? That is probably the closest people have come to proving that time exists. I am sure I am missing some thing here so some one please point it out.

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
Phew, here goes.
It's impossible to have hundreds of dreams a night, because time moves at a "real" pace in dreams, mathematically it doesn't make sense. So, assuming 8 hours sleep, you would have to have a new dream every five minutes. It is indeed possible that you are correct, but dreams are more of a Joyce-ian stream of conciosness type deal, where everything simply flows, and it's hard to discriminate endings and beginnings (good call syphon detonator).
Now to the real subject. The time skipping around thing has close correlations to what quantum physicists call "the arrow of time". It is indeed perplexing that everything in the known universe can go up, down, back, forward, left, right, and more depending on the existence of a fourth dimension. So, why doesn't time ever move backwards? Why don't we remember things from the future? I have to debunk your VCR claim, though, because I would imagine that we are more sentient than signals from a video tape.
Almost there. In my honest opinion, the most reasonable explanation of Deja Vu is Schrodinger's quantum hussy theory. I've explained it before, but I'll go into it again for those who missed it. Schrodinger proposed that every time a decision in the universe comes up, the universe "tests the waters". All possibilities are tried out, spread across time and space. Then the universe piscks it's "favorite," thought to be the most probable end. This is called the "collapse of a wave function", also a Schrodinger baby. This is where everything gets tripped out Carl Jung style. Basically, we retain a residue of what could of happened in our brains. The people, places, and things that we would of encountered are all in there. So when we see something that occured before the collapse, a trigger goes off in the brain. Bada Bing bada boom, deja vu'. Hold on kiddies, things are about to get scarier. Since our experiences influence us, they think that the "memories" from the other experiences influence our behavior. So if we have a bad experience with tapioca in one of the realities before the "real" reality, we have an unexplainable aversion to tapioca, which is a real shame. Yowzers.
There are a few facts to support this. When an electron switches to another atom, it exists in all of the fields before it selects the one it's best suited for. Furthermore, the whole non-locality issue (which is mathematically proven though entirely inexplicable and contradictory to quantum physics) helps the second half of the argument.
Let's finish it up now. Time has to exist curios monkey. Newton says so. We can say time exists because it moves. Hence a past, now, and future. The real question is, can we control it's movements?

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
"We can say time exist because it moves. Hence a past, now, and future."
Ok, I'm accepting this. But since it moves doesn't that mean that it is no longer in the past and therefore the past does not really exist. I mean, isn't the only proof that it was there, is our memory and how can we know that our memories are not just an idea that popped up. You drive a strong point and I find it hard to argue but this is something I would like cleared up for me.
Hmmm... assumming time does exist, it only exists in relation to space right? But doesn't quantum physics point out that even between say, a nucleaus and a quark, there is what could be called 'foam.' Doesn't this foam exist in all spaces and therefore space is not space?

Re: repeating life events (similar to dejavou)
You prove a great point Monkey, totally expanding on one of time's paradoxes. I haven't really studied it wnough, but I suppose I'll take a swing. When you have a reaction, there is an end product. Somehow that end product has to get there, so I suppose that you could base the theory on the existence of time on the fact that "things" exist. Kind of sketchy, but that's all that I can reason out at the ungodly hour of 11:00 in the morning. I should come back later.
Anywho, about the foam. I, once again, don't have any knowledge whatsoever on it. I'll look it up this weekend and get back to you.
solo, please don't ruin topics with asinine questions. When I see you answer a couple of things scientifically, I might support you. I fail to see why this forum needs a mod though, except to maybe archive some topics and lock new threads on time travel *shudder*
