Is there anybody that still think that certain mythical creatures exist, you know, Bigfoot, The Loch Ness Monster ,Ogopogo, etc..... Well you can count me out of this group of people. This subject used too be a facination for me when I was a kid. That is because I, like all children, still had an active imagination. Now on the other hand I have came to the conclusion that such a creature (bigfoot) can not possibly exist. Dont you guys think that they would have already found the thing by now.It would be very hard to miss an eight foot hairy ape running around the wilds of the Pacific Northwest.

You know certain animals exists in small regions of the world and yet nowhere else.

To this day it is said that in the cascade mountains of eastern Washington there is land that has not been set foot on by modern man. You would think that has to be a lie with all the modern technology we have but there are valleys and canyons that are not accessable to modern day man in areas of washington and parts of Canada.

There are still millions of acres in northern california that are just now becoming modernized that were isolated a few decades ago. Many Native American tribes such as the Mewaks and Wapo indians have acient storys of an ape like beast.

100 years ago people thought the silverback Gorillia was a myth until europeans traveled to the congo to take photos of them. For many years Europeans and Americans feared these creatures and saw them as alien like.

A Giant squide 200 feet tall??? no such thing could exists because we would have found it by now.. oh wait, A Japanese fishing boat caught one just 5 years ago. yes the mythical Giant Squide really does exists and it took us to the end of the 20th century to find it.

It was less than 100 years ago that the mountain gorilla and the giant panda were both thought, for certain, to be mythical creatures.

Hell, I even like to think that the dodo is still around. That when the domestic animals, that were brought to its island, started eating its eggs, that it [and when I say 'it' I mean the whole damn lot of them] hightailed it into the lands that are still largely unexplored today.

I think it is possible for unknown man-sized animals to live undiscovered. There were two antelope species discovered in the late twentieth century in the vietnam region. And as suggested before, we never did photographed a live giant squid. It just seems sad that there is a possibility that such creatures would be extinct due to human activities before being discovered.

well one day people will go through looking for them and shoot them all as proof. who cares if its a hoax.

I do happen to believe that there are several monsterous (I use the word "monsterous" only in reference to the creatures size and/or the mystery that surrounds them, not the creatures disposition) creatures that still havent been found or proven to exist. These animals can be found on or near the bottoms of the worlds oceans. The bottom of the ocean is still practically unexplored. Every time there is an expedition to this region there is always some new discovery that will exite researchers (as well as the rest of us) and demand more study. It has been said that we know more about outerspace then we do about parts of our own planet. It used to be thought that the bottom of the ocean would be too hostile to support any type of life let alone anything the size of a giant squid. We all know that the ocean bottom is far from lifeless. We even found creatures that were thought to be extinct long before the dinosaurs made their first appearance (Celeocanth). The ocean bottom is a very dangerous and exspensive place to visit, its freezing cold in some places or boiling hot in others. There is no sunlight so it is in perpetuale darkness, any light that is present is made by the creatures that live there. The pressure at these depths will easily crush any terrestrial creature instantly. Its the area of these regions (sheer size) that prevents a thorough survey to be accurately taken so a creature can easily hide without direct observation. (actually seeing it alive and first-hand). You cant really take these creatures and compare them to any land based animal that may or may not exist for the simple fact that we have thus far never found any type of true physical evidence. All we are offered are eyewhitness acounts, several plaster casts of footprints (hence the name "Bigfoot"), photographs that are so blurry that they can be images of almost anything and one or two very shakey movie or video clips. The most famous movie clip, the one shot at Bluff Creek by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimmly ( I think thats his name). The clip supposedly portrays a female sasquatch (the Canadian name) high tailing it towards the dense forest after being surprised by the two men as it was having a nice refreshing drink by some creek. We then see a very shakey clip of it because it was being shot while running towards it. This film would turn out to be the most prized piece of evidence for believers. The sides were drawn and the battle of the experts commenced, Anthropologists, biologists, and the rest of North America argued for ages on the films authenticity and if the craeture actually existed after all. It turns out that the film was really shot to boost interest in an up and coming nature series that was being produced at the time, Patterson admited it before he died as did Bob Gimmly did after he died. They even told who the person who played the beast was. It was even listed as one of the greatest hoaxes of all time and even made it into the Guiness Book of World records as a hoax (I forgot the exact year but it was between the years 1998 and 2000). well so much for the keystone of the believers. The footage was never used as it was origionally intended, it created so much contraversy that it couldnt be used. I can just see these guys sitting down drinking a nice cold beer and laughing at the absurdity of it all. Another famous ( or infamous) photograph of a mysterious creature (quite possibally the most famous monster) The Loch Ness Monster also turned out to be a fabrication as well. The surgeons photograph said to show the head, neck and part of the body of a large dinosaur like creature taken while on a pleasure cruise of the Loch. It too was the focus of a heated debate on the merits of the image. I mean if you cant trust the word of a proper English doctor who can you trust? Well guess what, the famous head and neck turned out to be an unfamous toy submarine with a plastic head. The sasquatch has been sighted all over the west coast. It is a very populated region so the creature would have been found, a hunter or trapper would have come across some sign that would prove such a creature exists. We have never seen a live giant squid, but we know they exist because there has been several cases where they have either been washed ashore, or accidently brought up by human activities. The presence was also found in the stomaches of Sperm Whales killed by whalers. If you went up to some person who didnt know about the earths living history and told him/her that the Earth used to be ruled by Gigantic reptiles with very large teeth they might go into hyserics at the very idea. We know they existed because we have the bones to prove it (or fossils). We have direct evidence of our first ancestor, but we have yet to find one bone or single piece of tissue sample of anything resembeling a North American Ape, an eight foot tall ape at that. As our population gets larger the wild areas get smaller, there are no more lost cities of gold left in the jungles to find, Area-51 is a secret base for Earthbound technology such as the Nuclear bomb not to hold captive aliens that had an accident in order to steal their technology and the bottom of the worlds sea holds monsterous animals, but thats all they are; just animals.

Like alot of people i would love to believe in these myth creatures you bought up but i dont know really it would be awesome but sometimes theres such a more logical answer. My example would of course be the famous Yeti/Sasquatch/Abominable Snowman. The Ab Snowman originates from Nepal,Tibet the basic Himalayas area, and was bought to america in the 30's, i myself believe the harder evidence comes from North America in the harder denser forests, where a man like you or me could stay there for there lifetime without being found !! I myself believe in the sasquatch.

Back on the subject of animals heres another example. The Galagopos islands, have residents unknown to the animal world. The Marine Igauna,Giant Turtle,Galagopos Penguin,

the reason i believe they exist is because of how these creaters are described (as someone said already) in historical texts and such (for lack of a better word. basically indian stuff. heh) i doubt its just oicidental that poeple are seeing the same images.

and it kinda falls in with the fish thing. there are said to be thousands of fish not descovered because theyre to deep in the ocean for man to access them, and easily study them.

so as long as there is a place we cant get to, there is an animal we havent seen.

Well who knows really so I guess we can only follow the advice to simply wait and see what happens. Dont get me wrong I would be very happy and excited if any of these creatures were proved to exit. Unfortunatly untill this happens I will remain sceptical.
