radiation and religion
okay i got really bored and was talking to someone about evolution and decided to read genisis. i got up to the bit where they all started having sex (or asexual reproduction, it doesn't go into details) when i wondered how could anyone belive this except for if they had prior faith. so i was thinking how do people get faith in the first place. the obvious is to catch people off guard (depression, dying, 'in search of answers', etc etc) and brainwash them but that is all i got (cept for when there brought up with it but that doesn't count). every religious person i know 'found' god when they were vunrable(sp), so either alot of people are screwed up, or im missing something. (isn't it wrong to force your religion on kids, if its right for them won't they choose it themselves). isn't the whole religion thing just a justification for people to do nothing. i know that there alot of religious people who do the whole helping thing, and that is good, but most peoples assistance is limited to praying. god doesn't answer prayers, but he is big on wrecking peoples lives and destruction. for example, a earthquake in 1925, some bishop person said it was gods revenge on revealing fashion, and someone said something to that effect after S11. most peoples religion of god is based on a feeling or instinct. well heres a thought, maybe churches and the like are built on radiation stockpiles (natural or otherwise). this would explain a few things, 1) the people in the church have absolutly no idea what is happening everywhere else in the world, 2) it smells wierd, 3) the people have a complete loss of will power on anyhting that doesn't involve slaughtering non belivers in their thousands, i could go on for ages. tihs would also explain the fact that the preist people live for abnormaly long amounts of time then die of cancer. no one could belive the type of crap in the bible without the use of an outside stimulant or a total frontal labotamy. there are many advantages to a mono-culture relgious country with people who will do anything that any two bit 'profet' says. they can be used to attack other countries, it can be a way to justify doing nothing. and so on. this is all very instresting don't you think?
i know i started rambling but i was burning a cd and i had nothing better to do, so be kind.

Re: radiation and religion
lol. I never thought about the churches hyping everyone up radioactively, maybe that's why people are suppose to go back to church every week, to recharge them. lol

Re: radiation and religion
I think some people are just prone to religious belief, maybe its just different brain chemistry or somthing. I read something about some scientists who brought on religious visions by sticking electrodes in certain parts of the brain.
Sounds like a laugh.

I stick batteries up my arse for fun!
Seriously though (or maybe not) this radiation thing might be true. It might explain why most bishops, priests and vicars are bald. Radiation poisoning.

Re: radiation and religion
yes but wouldn't all that radiation turn priests into some incredible hulk like creatures? or maybe some form of zombie? Back to square one pal.

Re: radiation and religion
thats the beauty of it, not everyone turns into zombies, some wither up and die, and others turn into old boring emotionless people. thats why you have to train (?) to be a priest, they need to screen you to see what reaction youll have. so there.

Re: radiation and religion
what really gets me is when a church gets burnt down or graffiti'd, everyones asking "why in hell would anyone do something like that to a church?"
shit like that sends me catatonic, once a question gets too stupid i cant even think, let alone answer

Re: radiation and religion
youre absolutely right, you cant really get faith without having faith in the first place. unless youre at a vulnerable point in your life. it makes you wonder...
