A Brief History of Time By Stephen Hawking

You can read sample pages here.

Tis probably the best book on the subject that i've ever read.

a great submission to be sure, but only the starting point.

from there, move into hyperspace by michiu kaku.

after that step into the end of time by julian barbour.

the two books i mentioned are almost a divergence from hawkings,

where barbours requires a total unbiased approach from EVERYTHING you thought to be true.

kaku speaks of the hyperdimensional reality through superstring theory,

barbour speaks of a timeless and motionless universe that only exists right now in this moment.

and that memories are just thoughts of already experienced moments.

in a nutshell anyway, and it is probably the most simplistic approach yet, if you can look beyond two almost fundamental "illusions?" of existance.

My favourite book at the moment is called 'The hunt for zero point'. It is all about the development of anti-gravitational aircraft that was first started by the Nazis and then carried on by the americans.
It also delves into the fact that the americans promised not to put the Nazi scientists on trial if they agreed to work for the americans. Good book.
