ok. last night i decided i was ready for astral projection. i had practiced meditating for a week. i know, only a week, but i though i would give it a try.

it was friday night, after an long week (of school), and i was a little tired. i was in my bed, lying down flat on my back. i was also listening to some great techno music. i started consentrating on a football and then the music and vice versa.

after a while, i felt my body shaking left and right. it was really fast - violent almost. i opened my eyes and it stopped, immediatly. it was really exciting, so i just went back to meditating.

after a little while, i felt myself lifting up and out of my body. first my eyes started to rise, as if my sockets werent there. after a second of my eyes rising, the rest of my body did. it wasnt straight, it was on a slant. my head was the highest. like this: /, not flat, like this: --.

this happened for about 2 seconds, and then i opened my eyes. it scared the shit out of me! scared is an understatement. i have no idea if i was about to expirience astral projection or not, but it was weird. however, im afraid to do it again. i dont know if ill be able to come back, or what ill see. call me crazy, but im afraid there will be some kind of spirit, or spirits, like a ghost or something.

so if anyone has astraly projected before, whats it like? do you also expirience what i felt? is it %100 safe? can you see other people floating around too and meet them?

Yes i've projected before, and its safe.
It's in reality not like a dream, but youre in a state where you dont seem to question it.
Have you ever done something out of character and at the time you know it is out of character but you dont question it adn you still do it?
Well you sort of react to it like that.
And yes you can meet other people...people have known to meet each toher while projecting also.

The only way you wouldn't be able to come back is if your body somehow got killed instantly while you were in the process, like if someone were to behead you.

Ive had something, when...meditating...just...starting at something, like, the texture of my hand, a leaf, or whatever, but anyways
it wasnt like I left my body, or viewed from a different angle (the angle like if I stood on the other side of it) but it seemed to take on a new clarification, all thoughts left my mind as I pulled through complete input of visual, just, this leaf...it was pretty intresting....

when i felt the vibrations prior to projection i got really afraid and i thought i was dying (sp) so i tried to scream and i couldnt, finally i did but at normal speaking voice. has this happened to any of you? it wont happen agian to me cuz if i get that far im going all the way. ive been praticing and making progress so i hope to leave soon.

Ive had a few Astral Experiences. I can assure you it's real. But it's scary as fuck. I mean like no fear you've ever felt. Ive yelled myself back into my body more then once. After I would wake up, I would be thinking to myself

*shit dad is going to be coming down here anytime know wondering whats wrong cause I was yelling so loud*

Then I would realize I wasn't yelling while in my body! I was yelling while I was out of my body! But I heard it so clearly, it was real! Just in a different plain of existence/reality/dimension!!! It's really hard to explain if you haven't had one. Ive only had a few, but can bring them on at will on occasion if I'm in the right state of mind, and relaxation. But I always get so scared just as I'm being pulled from my body, and wake myself up by opening my eyes, or yelling or something. It always takes like 30 seconds though to wake up! You feel paralyzed!

One other thing, when Ive left my body, ive DEFINITLY felt the presence of some other being/spirit/entity or something?!?! Which is the scariest part of the experience! It's a trip dude!

Oh and disturbed I know exactly what you were going through, as what I described above is VERY CLOSE to what you described! And yes you were about to Astral Travel dude! But no worries theres no way in hell you won't get back to your body, I know exactly how you feel! And there is a chance you will see spirits or ghosts. And they MAY try to scare you. But Ive been told before, they CANNOT hurt you and DON'T be intimidated by them! That's Astral Projectings Number #1 rule! But so far I haven't been able to last very long myself, the fear is incredible! Try Try again though, I will keep trying till I get it downpacked. Just gotta keep telling yourself NOT to be scared, NOTHING can hurt me! That's worked for me well for up to about 40 seconds, then I puss out and wake myself up! Oh and by the way the spirits and ghosts might actually be dimensional travelers aswell, or other Astral Projectors

are you sure what you were experiencing was astral projection?
because it sounds like something that happens to me every once in a while when i sleep, i use to leave my radio on at night and so i kept waking up in the middle of the night but my body was asleep so i couldnt move or talk, and id begin to panic, but when i relaxed id either just go back to sleep or wake up, which ever i was closest to

when i was in this state my whole body became tingley and my sense of hearing was increased because i couldnt use any of my others senses

you probably not realy projecting then because when i finaly projected i was not afraid at all once i got out. its very peacefull there and i have no worries. iv never encountered a negative being but i did meet a small red dragon on my first trip.it was chewing on my upper arm but did not hurt or scare me. it wasnt threatening at all. i think it had some significance but im not sure at this point.

One time a few months ago my mind woke up while my body was asleep and my spirit was out to lunch.

Freakiest shit ever, I remember hearing the faint sound of me screaming for help but I knew in my mind that my body could not do it because it was asleep. I tried moving my arms and legs, but they wouldn't move, I could feel like the signal traveling through my arm for it to move because it tingled slightly, but my body wouldn't wake up.

Then after about 3 minutes of laying there, conscious but unable to awake the motor control of the body, my spirit kind of sucked back into my body making this sound like a cup when you fill it with water in the sink, then when the sound of the cup was like it gets when it has just become full I regained consciousness and was whole again.

My spirit felt like when you put jello in your mouth outside of your teeth and then gradually suck it in while I could also feel the separate sensation of my body getting a little uncomfortable from being in the same position. Thats the best I can describe the effect.

uuuuh yeah thats all well and good, but can someone tell how to reach astral projection, or at least give some good links, i'd like to try this.

I was relaxing in the tub one day and decided I'd try astral projection. I tucked my hands under my ass, closed my eyes and repeated a mantra in my head, "I will project out of my body" over and over, while trying to raise my left arm into the air. After a good while I raised my arm into the air then thought this is stupid and tried to open my eyes and sit up but I couldn't move! I realized I must be out of my body then just as suddenly I panicked thinking I might drown and woke. I hadn't realized my body was asleep or that I was sitting on my hands and couldn't have raised my arm into the air. It was also impossible for me to have drown. Had I been more serious in my approach to the experiment, I might of not panicked and accomplished more. This technique seems to have worked for me and It would be nice to hear of techniques successfully employed by others in this forum.

Ive had abit of a lookin to Astral Travel and practiced a few meditations, but never actually astrally travelled, it'd be a rather kickass experience though i bet and something id like to try, but never been able to do it, spose i havent tried that hard either tho. Lucid Dreaming on the other hand is something im quite into, if i take my contacts out when i goto sleep i pretty much always slip into a dream and get to a point where im semi-lucid, i realise its a dream and can do whatever i want, but i can feel that certain forms of my higher thought are turned off, which tends to piss me off extremely. neways, is there a connection between Lucid dreaming and Astral Travel? and has anyone here who can astral travel/dream lucidly ever tried Datura?

yes there is a link between astral and lucid but different people have different opinions on the relationships nature. i almost never lucid but have projected before. however i have never traveled. when i get out my mind is slow and simple. its like im very dumb but dont realize it at the time.

I think it is all a bunch of bullshit.

Datura is also called jimson weed. The herb has large white to yellow flowers and the fruit is a roundish green spike ball that later turns brown. It is a potent hallucinogen but quite toxic. Some bored kids in my area ate the stuff and wound up hospitalized.

Btw, can the body sleep walk during lucid dreaming or astral projection for that matter?

klysmo it is real i can confirm this with personal experience.

as far as sleep walking i have never done that but it may be possible but i doubt it because your consciousness is sererated from your body. it may be a sub conscious action, in that case it is possible.

That website on SpellsAndMagic appear to be very detailed material. I will have to find the time to actually begin the excercises mentioned.

I suppose Syphon is correct to assume that the sleep walking issue is regulated by the subconsious. Since I have no history of sleep walking, I probably do not have to worry about such things.

cant say i have ever done it. It all seems a little bullshit to me. but i do keep an open mind and will believe something if i see it. one time i was walking in the lounge room when i spied a large room to the left. i thought i must have traveled really quick to get to the end of the hall so fast when i saw somone in there. i took a peek and so did they that scared the shit out of me. then i relised my parents had bought a new mirror and i was watching myself.

I have this book that I read ages ago (by "Collins," they also make dictionaries), called "Dreams" and it says about lucid dreams and all other types.
You can give yourself a lucid dream by flashing a light on and then off really quickly after a certain amount of hours sleep (I don't know how many hours because I can't seem to find the book at present). There is a blindfold that you can buy that has two LEDs where your eyes would be and it the LEDs will flash when you've been asleep long enough. I think it has a timer that you set for the LEDs to flash at 4am or something.
You dream about the last thing you concentrated on before you went to sleep; remember that in case you want group sex or something. I don't think astral projection is real because if you fall asleep thinking "I will project out of my body," then you will have a dream about it and the body looks like it's asleep because it is asleep.

My older brother is really into stuff like this. He told me that a couple of months ago he nearly fell into a deep trance or something. He said he was daydreaming and it became a deeper daydream and he went into a bit of a trance. He said he hen saw a big eye or hole (I can't remember) and he was falling into it mentally. Apparently it took all his mental strength to pull himself back up and back to consciousness. So much it made him fall off the couch when he 'woke up'.
Personally I think he's losing it.
If not - what would have happened if he had let himself fall? He does know quite a bit about this sort of stuff but said he didn't feel ready.

i dont know if this has anything to do with AP but it may.

i know i have had many dreams (non recently) where i am either moving fast or falling. they are generally realistic. like im in a car or falling off a roof or something.

whats odd, is that i can feel pressure. its hard yto explain. but its like its hard to breath, as if i was moving so fast it was making to difficult to inhale and exhale. when this happens, i cant control the dream but i know whats going on and whats happening.

most of the time in the dream ill go through whatever i was doing, and say land safely or slow donw. when i wake up i remember feeling like as the pressure began, i knew what was going on and that i was going to experince what ever this was again.

once i actually woke up and kidna did that thing u do when u come out of the water in a swimming pool, where you inhale really fast cuz u cant breathe. i was woken up in the middle of the most intense part of this dream. i dont know what by but i was, and i remember when i woke up, i sat straight up, did the inhale thing, and felt that pressure like feelign (whihc is a 100% unique feeling) in my chest gradually decrease.

have u ever fallen asleep to music (of course you have) and been dreaming and have the music (or any outside sounds, like talking or tv for that matter) effect your dream? i know often ive heard poeple talking, and the speache was incorperated inot my dream. and just about every time my alarm clock wakes me up from a dream, in the dream the sound is encorperated, and a few times ill think "hey thats my alarm clock, damn" and do the thing where ur in a dream and want to wake up, where u close ur eyes tight and open them, and wake up.

well, last night i gave it a shot, and had no results. im nto at all surprised, i didnt expect to jump out of my body, and start floating around talking to ghosts!

though, i did feel soemthing. it may have been in my head, but it was wierd, i kind felt some small tingling in my fingers. hard to explain, it was like softer, and felt more gentle then prickly. it was very little but it was there. i know if i moved my hands a little bbit it would stay, but then i just woved my hand a lot and the feeling went away and didnt come back.

i know as i was doing it, in the back of my mind i was thinking, "nothings gonna happen!" and that may have contributed to it. and the fact taht it was a firt try.

but if anyone has any links to things on how to meditate, perhaps i could try that so when i do attempt projection, i will be clear of mind and be focused 100% on oen thing, that way no negative thoughts will be clouding my chances!

Astral projection is a gradual process. I hear you have to exercise your concentration by thinking of a small object and holding that thought as long as you can. Eventually your thoughts start to wizz around and its hard to think of that object, but after some time of practicing you can think of the object for as long as u want effortlessly. You can block out any outside thoughts and see the object for what it really is. This is all about meditation and meditation must be learned in order to astral project. You need to think about nothing for a certain amount of time so that you consciousness can gradually raise to a higher plain. If your thinking 'ooo nothings happening yet' then in will not work. That is why the concentration exercise is important. Its kind of training your mind to obey you.
Do you smoke weed? I think weed gives you a higher state of consciousness and it is similar to the feeling of a meditator.

i was lying on the sofa watchin tv then closed my eyes.with my eyes still shut my body floated upwards.i opened my eyes then it stopped.closed my eyes again and sure enough it happend but this time i conciously willed it.So ,(as ne1 would) i made myself go higher and higher,this was a really good feeling but stopped when i had what i can only describe as a minor body convulsion.
i did then try sideways and downwoulds, this also worked.I shortly stopped due to the fact that i didn,t really know what the hell it was and what it could do.
i just thought id let enquiring minds know that this shit does go on and is fuckin cool!

makes sense to me. when im high, i know, like most poeple i can just lay back, and chill thinking of one thing.

perhaps ill try that. well, first ill learn the meditation and try it like that. then perhaps when i can do it ill try it high

never go on drugs. you will become dependent on drugs to project and will not be able to go without them. and sorry to disapoint you frontalobe but you didnt project. that was halucination from the drugs. when you project it is very frightening the first time and there are events leading up to the projection. keep trying and keep reading.

Ok the thing about me is i never have nightmares.
But last night i fell asleep after tryin to astral project for ages.
Then for the next 2 hours i was half asleep and lying in my bed eyes open (i think) but being terrified of everything. I could be sure there were ghosts in my room altho i couldnt see em. And it was as tho every sound i heard was in some way going to harm me. (Like a sound of a person outside i was convinced was going to try to get in the house) it was horrible.
I also was terrified my bedroom phone would start ringin.
At about midnight it did ring (which is very rare at that time)
This reminded me of things i have read to do with making your own reality by believing something. It was as tho i believed it true.
Can anyone shed some light on this

Well i relaxed my body and visualised a simple object for as long as i could, also i tried imagining my mind escaping my body. Gradually i fell asleep but remember at some point asking god to let me know if what i was doing was wrong.
Also from 'spells and magic.com' i did the experiment where i tell myself to remember all my dreams.
I had a dream somewhere inbetween 10 and 11 about a work mate that had died. Then i woke up (or i was dreaming of being in bed) And i was convinced there was some kind of evil presence in my room. Everything just seemed to give an impression of negativity. I heard a motorbike outside and listened for it to stop outside my house, thinking the rider would come to me. Then i heard womans footsteps walking past the house and i was convinced she was gonna climb to my window and try and er...get me. I also got a horrible tingling sensation throughout my back. I was basicallt paranoid to the fullest. I was also afraid that my phone would ring.
I fell back asleep and at about 11:45 my phone rang. It was my mate andi who never calls me from his uni, he asked me a slighlt pointless question and then had to go. But by this time i was sane again.
I told my work mate i dreamt of him dying and he said he saw a man who very nearly died in a pub on saturday.
Its all a bit fukked up and even tho im really interested in astral projection im not sure if i dare try to carry on with it.
Any advice/ help/ info would be appreciated

using drugs and then tring to project is a dumb thing to do. you get scared easy and if there is some thing in the astral plains or some being in the astral plains is bothering
you, you can't just imagine yourself some where else and be there and you can forget how to get out. you will be cofused scared and high after a geting scared you should ''wake up'' but it will still be scary as hell (literaly)

very good your making progress. i have been getting that my entire life when something is wrong and its never betrayed me. its good becasue now we know you have the gift. you were defining you own reality. i was also very paranoid and afraid when i was trying untill my first time. if your afraid then do not project. i dont buy into the negative being stuff but you wil make the experience bad for yourself.

the best advice i can give to you is to just let it happen naturally. dont try too hard. it will just happens when everythings right

I used to do trance work every night for a while, I was more interested at going into
my own sub-consciousness rather than onto one of the higher astrals, the best advise I
can offer is to agree with Solo and Syphon, don�t do drugs if your serious about this
kinda thing, eventually you�ll need all of your mind to be as sharp as possible, they�re good to show the dream like nature of reality and shatter conditioned beliefs but there not worth the eventual trouble and wasted time. Anyway things got pretty freaky for me after a while so I decided to not fuck with what I didn�t know about until I found some I could trust that would help me, this I think is very important. But the best way to anything like this is to develop a one-pointed consciousness, then once you�ve attained this to a degree you can direct it towards what you want, and if you�ve enough will power directed in that direction you can achieve pretty much anything you wish (most people do this in there every day lives), but when this is enhanced you should be very careful, while you sustain this level of concentration because any thoughts (and every thought matters) may materialize, whether it be there or here (this reality), this area is where non-attachment comes in and is why you should only do it when in the best frame of mind possible.
Mixing what I�ve experienced and read I can say there are spirits around that can be
pretty dangerous and of course ones that can be very helpful, the possibility of mental
disorders developing can also be very likely in some people, but I think these things
are like tests. When doing this sort of thing it is possible to open up doors and latent capabilities - especially abilities you�ve had past experiences with. of person, when the physical body has passed away the spirit will linger in a level of
the astral until it takes it�s next rebirth usually not longer than 50 days, in this state psyc abilities are greatly improved and the ball of experience you knew will mostly likely know when somebody is thinking of them and will be able to travel there with a thought or may not have a choice (stronger the attachment stronger the possibility) if this happens again best thing you can do is not to be afraid, you don�t have to be, they�re most likely as scared as you, so offer any advice you can or just give them your love and wish them well, just thinking it�s enough, might sound stupid but does work. The tingling sensation is your Kundalini rising and will yield great results.

i have had decent results projecting while under the influence of THC, in fact it is much easier to meditate, relax the mind and body, and enter fully into an altered state

your already in an altered state, and of course it works but it does effect your perception and as a result can have unseen effects on the world around you and the places you go, I'm just saying although it might make it easier your better without it in the longrun- but also this is just my view, we all have to have our own adventures.

have you ever tried it? i have had success projecting sober/high on the buds/ and on shrooms, the hardest is sober followed by the shrooms. While tripping its very hard to clear your mind but if you can achive this, projection is possible and mind blowing, words cannot even come close to describing it, while high on buds its much easier to clear my mind and draw energy from my surroundings and then to direct that energy... but that may be just me, and before you say that i was not projecting because i was high, i was just hallusinating(have no clue how to spell that), i tested it by going to the same place i go to when i astral project I have been there tripping/high/sober and its the same, but a little strangeer on shrooms, the point is try projecting on drugs, its possible and easier, at least for me, drugs are like a tool, or a key, to unlock the door...

I agree with that. But I think they are more like a keyhole. They let you see whats possible without them. Once you have learned to do this naturally, it's like having the key.

A way I would describe it is like going into space you can use a rocket which is easier but you must rely on having a rocket to get there or you could simply take off from where you stood and fly right into space any time you like.
Also drugs whilst opening some doors close others, what you should aim for is spreading your mind as evenly as possible and having the capacity to use every mental device you can at it's optimum level at any given time

i think i was well close to astral projecting last night.
I was 'not thinking' for a while, and gradually i couldnt feel my body at all. I knew i was laying down but i could imagine that i was stood up and it really did feel like i was stood up. The room seemed a little bit fuzzy but my heart started beating fast and i gradually lost it all.
After that i couldnt 'none think'

I can now write, sticking with the key description.... Drugs can be used as a key, but the problem is, you have to have the key to enter. When projection can be acheived at a natural state of being, then it is like having removed the lock.

For anyone who looks at it I would strongly suggest you follow the warnings in the site A lot of this kind of stuff is NOT for a dabbler and like it says could cause some serious harm. Don't let fear keep you from trying something new but use some common sense also. Everything is not as pretty as a lot of people make it out to be.
