me and my mate were walking through the city one late night, then some fuck whipped out a gun and told us to hand over our phones, since he was the one with the gun, we gave our phones to him. as soon as he turned around my friend kicked him behind the knees then grabbed his wrist and put the gun towards his(the fuckwit) head. since the person shit himself he fired a shot and killed himself. Now the pigs are trying to charge him with murder. There were cameras around the place and the whole thing is on tape. The courts dismissed it straight away and says that he had no cause in the killing. but the victims family and the police are trying to take it further.

i wouldn't loose any sleep over it. Even if they do appeal, the same evidence will determine it. Substantial evidence is the key, and with a videotape of it, thats pretty damn substantial. I'd most likely say he'll be aquited, no questions. But i've only taken Business Law 1 2 and 3, so whutta i know about it?

By the by, how did your mate know that the thief would shoot himself in the head? Thats kind of odd i think, if i'm gettin robbed by a guy with a firearm the last thing i'm thinking is "He'll just shoot himself in the head, and i'll skip away merrily". Wow, hope that idea quote didn't sound gay.. if it did, oh well, i proved my point.

Well, yeah.

The guy wasn't too bright, nor had he ever had any real training with guns. Especially if he tried to steal a couple of cell phones.

Carrying a gun gives a man a sense of power in his own weakness.
His brain considered the gun the save-all. It didn't even bother to aim first. He figured if he pulled the trigger he would get away clean. In his mind it was standard reaction to shoot first ask questions later, even if the gun was pointed at himself.

I would say your friend is a murderer, a murderer of the worthless, but a murderer nonetheless. I would say legally, no, your friend should not be prosecuted, but in reality, law is bullshit, he killed.
