If I were to spend $5000 or less on a watch
Which watch would you recommend?
To sum it up:
For the price this (http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Omega-Speedmaster-3611.html) seems to be my best bet at this point.
This Tag (http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Tag-Heuer-Carrera-Classic-679.html) is also very nice.
Although I think the Tag looks better with a metal (http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Tag-Heuer-Carrera-7513.html) band.
After Looking at the Tag's and Omega's I think I like this (http://www.gemnation.com/watches/Omega-Speedmaster-183.html) watch the best, and it is a reasonable price.
Any more suggestions?

I'm not poor, but spending more than $200-$300 on a timepiece seems like a waste, when I can just look at my iPod or cell phone for the date and time.

Get a Pulsar Kinetic or other Kinetic=no batteries to change.
Check out Patek Philippe...stay away from the million dollar watches. Probably not in your range...but you might find one at a pawn shop or antique store and the owner has no idea how much its worth.
Honestly if its not the watch you really really want I wouldn't buy one until you have the cash. That way you save your money and end up happier in the long run.
Good luck.

longines or girard perregaux.
stay away from tag, as they have some base model watches that are available to the little people.
you want a status symbol, you have to make it count right.

They don't stock any $5000 watches, but Nixon does have some higher end items and a good variety of styles, colors, bands, etc.

Unless you have money flowing out of your ass, why would you spend 2.5k on a watch?

wage slavery, consumer tool.
if you don't want to use your cell phone for the time, why not just buy a watch for $1 ? paint it a nice color if you like. i don't agree that expensive bullshit like that looks "nice". i think it looks fucking disgusting.
even if you do have money flowing out your ass, it's disgusting you waste it on this instead of using it for good, like donations.

so you can't think of a better way to spend $5,000.00 than on a watch. Buy a damn timex digital watch for $3.50 from walmart and use the other $4,996.50 to spend the weekend in hawaii

Re: If I were to spend $5000 or less on a watch
I clicked on the gold watch in the link you posted and that shit cost like 15 grand , I was like damn I have good taste.
I would only spend over 1000 dollars on a watch if I'm getting over 10k a month.
Realistically that wouldn't be anytime too soon.

Re: If I were to spend $5000 or less on a watch
Personally i'd go with the tag. Out of the two you posted i think the tag with the metal band looks real classy and sophisticated for the price.
Tag also has great warranty service too, not to be over looked.
Also from what someone else said about getting a kinetic, i disagree. I prefer watches with batteries because i found when i had a kinetic if i got sick or went on holidays and didn't bring my watch with me, then the time would stop and i had to reset it which was a real inconvenience.
Just my two cents.
