Anything light and sweat-wicking enough to prevent overheating. Ecstasy + dancing + hot clothes = feel like shit.

Re: Rave clothing
T-shirt and shorts seem the most practical articles to wear at a rave, given the dynamics of raving.

Most clubs around here have jeans + t-shirt dress codes, but there's always some people who go all out

ufo pants and something neon. Usually a few glowsticks and maybe the occasional LED or two. I don't go too hardcore.

Club =/= rave.
Keeping in mind that only 1/10 of 'raves' are held in a forest / beach / warehouse / etc.
Most are in clubs.

You dress up like a guido for a rave?
Super wide pants and a wife beater or hoody, neon colours, goggles, visors, glowsticks, whatever flashy/blinky/colourful accessories you can find.

Are you going for the Kandi Kid look?
If so, lots of colours. So many you think your head might just explode. Wear a retarded amount of bracelets and hair clips that look like they were made for children. If you're a real Kandi Kid into the drugs and everything you'll wear soother as well to chew on when you're rolling. Dye your hair a plethora of colours.

Re: Rave clothing
Depends on what type of raver you are, etc etc.
Junglists usually wear camo, ball cap, no kandi, dark colors and shit.
Personally, I love DNB, but I'm more of a candykid myself. I got some sweet UFO pants that are bright blue and wide legged, with some stuffed animals attached to the straps of them. Just some regular skate shoes, and a white t-shirt, and I'm good to go. Lights and shit are just added to whatever, or put in my pockets to fuck with later. Lots of Kandi. I started going to parties when I was like 13 in Seattle and I'm 19 now. Visors are cool too, as are beaded necklaces with pacifier.
Fuck I feel so cliche`, but that's how you do it.

Re: Rave clothing
I met some guys at Camp Bisco who were from the Philly/NC area. They were telling me about their adventures at the Electric Factory in Ashville. Things would get pretty out of hand there, like one time a herd of ravers were walking toward the club, and two police officers were walking their way. When the cops saw the ravers, they looked at each other, then crossed the street to avoid them.
One time, a guy came in dressed as a bushel of purple grapes (think of the Fruit of the Loom commercial). The people who worked at the Factory assumed it was just an extravagant costume. Turns out the "grapes" were balloons filled with Nitrous.
Do that. Be that cool guy who gives out nitrous hits.

Re: Rave clothing
If I'm going to a jungle rave I usually just wear some combats, white skate shoes, Baseball cap, and usually one of my drum and bass orientated T-shirts (http://www.slamminvinyl.com/index.php?con=shop&shop_sub=view_item&product_id=3384607474784aeb0d9073) and a hoody (http://www.slamminvinyl.com/index.php?con=shop&shop_sub=view_item&product_id=174064960462398dd9389f).
If its hardcore I usually wear the same combats and shoes and baseball cap plus any T-shirt and hoody (http://www.slamminvinyl.com/index.php?con=shop&shop_sub=view_item&product_id=103208706242ef456372a7e). Sometimes though if its a club where I'm not allowed to wear a cap (They have a blanket ban on all clubs and pubs in my town.) And obviously if its indoors and hot I will forgo the hoody and tshirt and just wear a high viz jacket. Also got various fluro bracelets, a bright green whistle on a fluro yellow lanyard and a pair of these (http://www.shadesplus.com/products/1428.jpg) or some goggles. What I wear generally depends on the kind of rave I'm going to and where it is.

Re: Rave clothing
Oh god, this reminds me of the kids in high school who'd paint their faces and where school colors on football days.
Give me a fucking break, just wear comfortable clothes.
I go in shorts, a tank top, and sandals. Really no big deal. Unless I go after work in which case I'll be in fishnets and boots and whatnot, but my clothing bears no influence on how much I enjoy the music. None whatsoever. And that's why I go. For the music.
Not to be in a fucking fashion show.
Although the guys with glitter all over them flailing long pieces of pink fabric are always amusing.

Ugh fuck candy kids, dont tend to see much of them at most of the events I go to but I guess it depends of the kind of music at the events. Its all about the High vis jackets, Whistles and horns over here or in the girls case fluffies and bikinis :D

Re: Rave clothing
Nothing beats those hot raver girls in tiny tiny bikinis and knee-high neon fluffies for eye candy. Although there's something about how whorish they look that's offputting. It's not like I'm ever at a rave for the girls anyway.
I'll generally go for my good ol' rave trainers on my feet, plain, greyish and covered in rave-floor filth but comfortable as anything, which I'm mostly thankful for on the long coming-down journey home when any good raver's feet will feel like they've been sledgehammered. Baggy khaki or camo combat trousers are standard, and if I'm in a bright mood I'll wear my neon yellow belt (not with the camo obv). Topwear's the only thing I vary really, t-shirts that flouresce under UV are always good, got a couple of Hospital Records shirts I like, a neon green super-thin hoodie with purple, UV white and black trim (doesn't sound too nice in text, I have to say), a few bright plain block-colour t-shirts. Nothing too garish and I don't go in for the candy shit (nobody does for d'n'b though), but it's nice to be colourful unless I fancy going all junglist soulja.

I'm going to a rave in a couple weeks, and I'm just going to wear my skater shoes, jeans, and a black wife-beater. I usually spike my hair swept to the left, so gel is of course in my hair. I'd give out caffeine pills rather than nitrous, as the caffeine will keep people dancing for quite a while.

Hardcore or Drum and bass? Never seem to see that much neon in jungle apart from high vis jackets.

Wouldn't it be great to get caught giving out caffeine pills

D'n'B, number one rave music of choice for me. I'm not much of a fan of hardcore personally. There aren't really enough jungle raves going on with decent lineups, so I don't go to that many of those either. Shame.
Oh, and if some random guy offered me a caffeine pill, there's no way I'd trust him unless I saw him pop it out of a Pro Plus packet. Even then I probably wouldn't take it, even if I didn't have some of my own. Unless I was already fucked, that is, and then I'd happily accept it.

Re: Rave clothing
If some dude was walking round giving out caffeine pills:
a) He would probably get laughed at because nobody is going to be needing a shitty caffeine buzz, I'm sure they have much better things to enjoy.
b) He would probably get tackled by security for openly dealing... Just because the packet says caffeine pills or you say they are doesnt mean they will believe you. Pills are pills at a rave regardless of content, people are only expecting the illegal type to go around and they aren't going to discriminate between them when you get arrested even if they are proven to only contain caffeine.

I never wear anything out of the ordinary, you always see the fleeing weirdos wearing t-shirts/skirts with fluorescent writing on it. Usuaully with such silly comments as 'Hardcore Till I Die' and such tattooed onto their backs. I always see idiots running around in spiderman and superman costumes totally out of their box, too... I hate it, it's always the sweatiest, smelliest guys that come and talk to you. Usuaully with their eyes popping right out of their heads.
