Remember John Titor, the "time traveler?"
If you don't, go here:
http://www.johntitor.com/
There used to be a big buzz about this guy on totse. He was supposedly a time traveler from the year 2036, and had came back to 1976 to get some old computer they needed to fix some shit, and then he stopped in the year 2000 for whatever. He posted pictures of his "time machine" and made some predictions.
(16) There is a civil war in the United States that starts in 2005. That conflict flares up and down for 10 years. In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed. Russia is now our largest trading partner and the Capitol of the US was moved to Omaha Nebraska.
He also said the 2004 Olympics would be the last ones ever, but we had them in 2006, and the 2008 Beijing games don't seem to have any interruptions.
Of course, he also said all the things he predicted could be prevented, so even though that shit didn't happen, there's no way to say he was completely lying.

The Winter Olympics are hardly real olympic games -- they don't get very much snow around the Mediterranean.

no shit it's old. i was bringing it up for the new people, and in case any of the old ones, particularly the ones who used to defend this cocksucker, had anything to say about it.

Re: Remember John Titor, the "time traveler?"
If John Titor was a real time traveler, he was not from our world-line.
If he actually traveled back in time, he would have traveled back from a separate world-line (in the 5th dimension). This would explain why certain predictions did not come true.
In fact, unless he could travel 6th dimensionally, it would have been impossible our world-line to become his exact one. His presence in the past alone creates a huge new range of possible futures, and his own could not be included in that, since on his world-line there never would have been a time traveler named John Titor in 2000.

Yes? Please, if you can explain how a 'New World Line' comes up with it's mass? No one seems to want to talk about that!?
Make a new world? Doesn't creating all that Mass give off a lot of radiation? Just creating a new Earth & Moon with all these different decisons? Where does it all come from?
If Titor Ass, made 40 time trips...that little machine must be pretty powerful...creating 40 New Worlds...
Wow!!! Titor Ass is...God!

care to back up what the fuck you're talking about? how do you know the properties of the 5th and 6th dimensions?

Nothing like a good old J. Titor thread to to get the blood pumping. However, seeing as from the outset this conversation about time travelling, dimensional plane-hopping blogging is more suited to SotD, that's where I'm moving it to.

Just someone...anyone, answer the Mass Question or point out where it has been answered for the layman...

well, if i remember the 'titor theory' correctly, then there are infinite worlds where infinite decisions are made differently. so he didn't actually create them they just exist.

Re: Remember John Titor, the "time traveler?"
Many Worlds Interpretation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Many_worlds)
5th and 6th Dimensions are just terms used to describe different levels of complexity, and could be replaced by any amount of numbers, probably. Its just 10 is really easy to use.
moonmeister, I don't really now what to say about mass. Although, I do know that a possible explanation of dark matter (which can only be observed by us through the force of gravity), is the mass of all these 'other' alternative world-lines, somehow connected to ours.

Well^^^ I've thought of dark matter as being in other dimensions? Yet, there doesn't seem to be enough of it to make zillions of alt.universes.

Maybe we're only 'connected' by this force to alternative universes in the possible pasts and futures available from out current position?
Maybe most of all the world-lines contained within the tenth dimension (or whatever you would like to call it) are always in a 'you can't get there from here' position?
Feel free to ask more.

I'd think the the mass of those alternate universes would only be measurable from within them. Therefore the mass question is moot.
We can already observe the gravitational effects of dark matter from within our universe so it wouldn't be able to explain it anyway.

Re: Remember John Titor, the "time traveler?"
Well it's hard to talk math with words.
Yet, if the Universe Mass x a Googillion doesn't seem like it's talked about either. Otherwise people would at least mention it & say that they don't understand the math.
Are there not only the Ten Trillion Billion stars in our Universe but the same in a Googillion more?

When concerning time travel, you have to include space. Space-time travel.
All that John titor bullshit was a mere gathering of technobabble and articulate words used by some geek who had no friends.
